Interestingly, in Canada, they speak of the "Sixties Scoop," an era in which children of indigenous women were forcibly removed from their mothers and placed in the "care" of the state, usually by handing them over to the Roman Catholic Church for religious indocrination and to be stripped of their culture and languages.

Jayli Wolf is an emerging Canadian artist who sings hauntingly of her father's experiences as a victim of the Sixties Scoop, and of her own trauma and pain in her popular single, “Child of the Government.
