Interestingly, I just watched a YouTube video yesterday, an interview of a young Mormon man who realized he was gay when he was 13, and who came out to his parents when he was 19.

At the advice of his LDS religious leaders, he entered conversion therapy, which unsurprisingly (to anyone who pays attention to medical science) had zero effect on changing his sexual orientation.

Over the course of 3 years, while working a warehouse job, he paid his Mormon conversion therapists $30,000, as he attended up to five sessions per week.

At least the same time, over and above that, he was giving the LDS Church 10% of his income!

He didn't wake up until 2015 when the LDS Church announced their infamous November policy, which required adolescents who were living with their parents to move out and renounce them if they wished to be Mormons in good standing.

That heinous policy, which ripped many Mormon families apart, finally convinced him that the religion he was raised in is evil.

Just this morning, in Prism & Pen, Esther Spurrill-Jones writes about how the Christian Post is platforming a disgraced would-be psychotherapist who was kicked out of grad school for practicing and promoting conversion therapy ... metaphorically covering his eyes and shoving his fingers in his ears against nearly a century of clinical data that demonstrates conclusively that conversion therapy does not work and is intensely harmful to mental health.

He doesn't care. He's even explicitly okay with parents coercing their adolescent children into conversion therapy!

Why?

Some kind of ignorant religious mumbo jumbo about "Judeo-Christian values."

That's just so sickening and disgusting!

Why would anyone want anything to do with values that are so evil and twisted?

I don't get it! I don't get how so many people embrace religions that are so ignorant, cruel, and persecuting!
