Interesting! In my experience, the gay-male world is quite different from that. We tend to hold ourselves to impossible beauty standards, the kind promoted by Instagram thirst traps these days, and that used to be promoted by other kinds of pop culture.
When I was quite young, I perceived myself as too skinny to be sexually attractive to anyone. Taking my shirt off in front of a potential lover could prompt quite a lot of anxiety.
