Interesting! I've never been much for mixing sex and alcohol, because even a couple drinks would wilt me, and I've never been much into bottoming, so wilting could be a deal breaker, lol.
But weed! Oh, my.
It seems to enhance sensory experiences because (some experts think) it interferes with the memory-forming and retrieval process, which makes some sensory input feel brand new. Interpreted as extra intense.
I first realized how intense when I was in maybe my late 20s in New York City, going out clubbing with a buddy who liked to smoke.
But I would only smoke maybe once a month, and not very much. So each time was kind of fabulous.
And the sex in between was still very good.
Then I move to Montreal where weed was practically if not technically legal. My partner and I were kind of shocked by the easy availability, and we figured, why not have a a couple hits off the bong before sex. Most nights. Then every night. And it was good. For a while.
Then we fostered it child and felt that it was wise to stop smoking in the house. (He had pretty serious addiction problems, and he'd been in trouble with the law regarding weed (at a super young age!), and we just didn't want any problems or temptations that might occur if he knew weed was in the house.
Sex had already become less frequent, and then it got a little boring, and we at first didn't put two and two together. It felt boring, because we weren't hitting the bong before sex!
By the time we realized it, it stopped being boring and sex became pretty good again. I think we needed to get the weed out of our system, even though we hadn't actually been smoking enough to be stoners or anything. Just a couple puffs at night before bed, meaning really before sex.
So we shrugged our shoulders and moved on and decided that our sex life was fine again.
One weekend, we treated ourselves to a date night at a spa/hotel. Adult time only, and a little luxury, our kid
staying with a family who lived across the street from us.
To treat ourselves, we walked around the corner from the hotel and lit up a joint in an alley.
When we got back to our room, the sex was spectacular. We realized that the sensory enhancement from THC was working really well, way better than it had worked when we smoked most nights before bed.
The lesson I took from that is that smoking every once in a blue moon can be really nice, but if you make it a habit, it gets old fast, at least if you're expecting really cool sensory enhancement.
I'm not saying that to try to advise you what to do one way or the other. Everybody has their own situations and experiences, and I'm sure different people experience THC differently.
Thanks for sharing your experiences!
