Indeed, Paige! The very idea of progress can be a trap. I just wrote about that in my last story on Medium.

It’s easy for those of us who have been out for years to imagine things are so much better now. Often, for LGBTQ adolescents, they are not, not even for kids in progressive places like New York or B.C. That story I wrote contains some data from a team of researchers who recently learned some startling and sad things about queer kids in B.C. not feeling accepted by their parents.
