Indeed! "Oh, we're very sorry," they say.

So very sorry. But not sorry enough to start selling assets and paying victims. Not sorry enough to suffer any real financial hardships for decades of abusive behavior. Not sorry enough to face juries of their peers in civil suits seeking meaningful reparation for victims who were tortured as small children.

I can't help but remember that Washington DC is where the US Bishop's Conference in 2020 lobbied Congress to kill the national suicide hotline bill because it reached out specifically to LGBTQ people.

They tried to kill the suicide hotline.

They tried to kill the suicide hotline because it offered help to LGBTQ people.

U.S. Catholic bishops are depraved and twisted. There's no two ways about it. Something about being a senior Catholic priest in the United States turns men into cruel, twisted, immoral animals.

Your story illustrates that perfectly well, and the suicide hotline thing corroborates.

But then, every Catholic priest to become a priest has to affirm that gay people like me are literally depraved. They think that's what morality means, using disgusting hate speech to condemn other human beings.

No wonder they're such disgusting animals so much of the time.
