Indeed, many of them are not. The goose that laid the golden egg and all that. But Geiger’s sentiment isn’t all that unusual for year-round TC residents, most of whom are not business owners, and who tend to be much more conservative than summer residents and tourists. That’s part of what makes this story interesting.
