Indeed! I was directly harmed by my inability to marry my late partner. When he died, I lost my home, because our co-op agreement specified that only spouses children and siblings could inherit.

We were domestic partners, but that didn't count.

I was out on my ass with no legal protection. I note that many people (including some US Supreme Court justices) want to go back to that. Why, I have no idea. I just know those people are evil. I know that they need to mind their own business and leave queer people alone. I also know they won't. So we have to fight them tooth and nail.
