Indeed, and in my opinion that's because the conservative forces you're writing about never forget our commonality. They are much less interested in what sets individual queer people apart than in what binds us together.
Often, they're only barely aware of what distinguishes us. But they're relentlessly aware of what we have in common.
The irony is that they do acknowledge our differences when they try to divide and conquer. But, again in my opinion, they don't genuinely care about the differences. They're all about trying to force all of us into the closet again.
We should remember this!
