Indeed. And current events are also instructive. I published a story yesterday about an expensive private Christian School in San Diego that effectively barred a husband and wife from campus. Parents of several children at the school, the couple had recently decided that their beliefs about the sinfulness of homosexuality had changed. They no longer believe that being gay is a sin.

Because of that, school officials ruled that they are inherent danger to children, and told them they are not permitted on school grounds when any children are present.

The great irony in my story is that this husband and wife are dedicated foster and adoptive parents who have been caring for children discarded by society. They adopted a pregnant 14 year old and are now raising her child with her.

They are living out the teachings of Jesus, pretty literally.

But their Christian school shunned them and shamed them because they had the audacity to say that gay people are loved by God.

Sometimes, Christians are just the most evil, hateful people in the world. I'm ceaselessly astonished by how cruel and disgusting so many Christians are.
