Indeed, and a whole cottage industry has sprung up on YouTube to highlight those disparities — channels featuring phone and body cam footage showing cops brutalizing the people they pulled over for minor infractions like tail lights being out, windows being tinted too much, or air fresheners dangling from the mirror. Overwhelmingly, the victims of the police brutality are people of color. Often, even if interactions don't rise to the level of brutality, the person of color being stopped is treated with abject disrespect and hostility.

I watch videos like this every day, and the more I watch the more I understand that something is profoundly wrong with police culture in the United States.
