Indeed, although the type of Christian who engages in discrimination and mistreatment of minorities is also the type of Christian who believes the biblical account of Jesus's birth and life is correct.

It's worth pointing out that much of the New Testament is fiction, although grounded in some common elements of truth.

It's also worth pointing out for progressive people but some of what Jesus thought was actually pretty heinous.

I don't see a whole lot of value in basing one's life on fiction, and cherry picking stories to make the message palatable. But that's me.
