In the United States at least, the term pillow-biter has been an anti-gay pejorative for at least as long as I’ve been aware of such things. I’m almost 60, and I don’t recall ever hearing the term being used by gay men to describe ourselves. It’s always been used by straight men to mock us.

But that’s here, I’d be interested to know if things have been different elsewhere.
