In states like Texas, Tennessee and Utah, forms of Christianity are so dominant that they effectively impose significant control over society through laws, policy, and enforcement of norms.
It doesn't matter whether you're a Christian or not, if you don't toe the Christian line you're going to have problems, sometimes very serious ones.
Christians are in charge, legally and socially; they seldom hesitate to force others to abide by their religious beliefs and practices.
They are not just the majority, they are a very powerful majority. They use their power to oppress. I mean, if you're an LGBTQ person, just for example, you had better watch your back in those states.
Members of minorities like me complain that Christians are abusing their power; there isn't any way to turn that on its head and make it about oppressing Christians. You can't unjustly discriminate against a powerful majority, especially not when they are in the business of unjust discrimination, to force their religious beliefs and practices on people who aren't even Christians.
