In light of last year’s Bostock v Clayton County decision by the US Supreme Court, it’s likely (but not certain) that provisions banning discrimination based on sex will have to apply to LGBTQ people. Any medical provider who attempts to use this Arkansas law to exclude LGBTQ people will probably be sued and will probably lose.
It’s disheartening, though, that politicians are trying to erect these barriers, and that court challenges might become necessary.
I’m encouraged by the response of providers like you who overwhelmingly oppose laws that permit discrimination that runs afoul of long-standing medical ethics.
