In fact, many Christian churches in the United States are fully affirming and accepting of LGBTQ people. Think the United Church of Christ, the Episcopal Church, ELCA Lutherans, most recently the UMC, etc.

Of course, those are not most North American Christians, but they are many North American Christians.

I'm writing mostly about the Evangelical Protestant Christian world, which calls gay people sinners and abominations, and about the Roman Catholic world, where catechisms teach school children that we are depraved and disordered.

It's necessary for good people to stand up and protest those teachings!
