In fact, I believe the term "same-sex attracted" originated in Christian conversion-therapy circles. I could be wrong about that, but I'm certain that it was popularized in those circles. It's also the term Catholic leaders use when asserting that we gay people must never marry and must never have intimate relationships. They don't call us gay, they call us people "struggling with same-sex attraction," which they falsely label a "disorder" even as they condemn us as sinners who commit "acts of grave depravity."

So, for the gender-critical crowd to adopt this terminology feels really creepy, honestly, besides well demonstrating how they are recycling sexism and homophobia.
