Some of the queer press picked up the story and asked people for help finding her. A couple mainstream news organizations devoted a couple lines to the story, but no more than that.

The New York Times, the Guardian, the Washington Post, etc, devoted front-page coverage to a missing white woman, but refused to offer the same coverage to a missing Black woman, even as LGBTQ advocates begged them to.
