I’m worried about my dad and I’m stressing out in ways that don’t always occur to me.

I care for him at home but he is mobile enough to get in trouble. If I don’t intercept him he’ll get in the truck and do his own grocery shopping without thinking to put on a mask. Or he’ll forget to sanitize his hands.

He seems to understand the dangers, but his mental acuity isn’t what it used to be and he forgets to do things.

A strong woman of about 60 in his church was taken to the hospital by ambulance yesterday. She has covid-19 and she’s in ICU now doing very badly.

So as isolated as we are in a tiny village way up here in northern Michigan, the danger has found its way to us.

Nothing really has changed for me, not as far as actual daily routine goes, but mentally I’m fighting off … dark feelings. Just knowing everything that’s going on.

Wishing you and all of yours the very best. And thanks for asking how things are going.
