I’m with you. I never enjoyed being scared as a child. I did not like haunted houses, and I never enjoyed roller coasters either. I think it’s because I had too many actual things to be scared of to enjoy being scared gratuitously.

Haunted houses don’t scare me anymore, though I don’t much get the appeal. I’d prefer a nice hayride and some mulled apple cider under a harvest moon. Not that I’m dissing haunted houses and scary stuff for people who like that. It’s just not for me. I’d rather find experiences to temper the ordinary fear I live with.
