Oh! How did that get into the conversation? Color me confused, but I'm pretty sure I didn't write about that subject or even tangentially refer to it. What do you think it has to do with the essay I wrote?

In fact, looking at the rest of your comment, I'm like, "What?" I'm not getting how your words relate to the stories I told about the oppression I lived or the identity forced primarily upon me whether I wanted it to be or not.

I'm writing about how my identity as a gay man (like many queer people) has been imposed on me usually in a negative way that makes me "strange" or "other," that contradicts the ordinary me I see when I close my eyes and remember the people I've loved.
