I'm thinking about the common misconception among straight people that gay male sex is necessarily anally penetrative, when studies show that most gay couples have anal sex less frequently than other forms of sexually pleasurable activity, and a significant percentage of gay men never (or mostly never) have anal sex. People seem to be conflating "sexually pleasurable" with mating. Since we gay men don't mate, that conflation can produce odd assumptions in the uninitiated.
