I’m thinking about Chicago public school teachers, who begged for safe working conditions during the omicron outbreak. But the (progressive!) mayor legally strong armed and forced them to go to work without having any input about their own safety. Used traditional union busting techniques to treat the teachers like shit, like slaves who will either do as they’re told or else.

I don’t know what the moral of this story is. Maybe it’s that Mayor Lightfoot, despite her progressive credentials, is a fascist piece of shit. Maybe it’s that power corrupts, and no decent human being can high office without becoming a fascist piece of shit.

Or maybe we just live in a horrible country where most people are awful.
