I'm struck by how many conservative Christians pronounce their loyalty to the Bible in defense of conservative points of view. They make clear that they presume that other Christians don't value the Bible, when that's usually the opposite of the truth.
You can't read the Bible literally and rule your life by that. Huge portions of biblical morality don't apply to modern life or clash with values that even conservative Christians agree are good moral values.
Somebody has to interpret. Somebody has to decide what parts of the Bible are to be taken literally or observed and what parts are not. All Christian sects do this, including the most conservative ones.
So proclaiming a "biblical world view" is disingenuous at best and deeply dishonest at worst.
