I'm so sorry you have to face these choices, and I'm so inspired by your courage and sharing.
On a related note about traveling, I was kind of blown away last night to learn that the US Air Force has announced a new policy for parents of LGBTQ kids. The Air Force is going to help families living in states with oppressive laws by paying for travel and prioritizing relocation and reassignment. Considering that the Air Force concentrates most of its training operations in Texas, this is a big deal. Despite a federal judge putting a hold on child abuse investigations there, many trans kids are unable to access therapy and medication as medical providers suspend care waiting for final legal outcome.
I haven't looked a lot into the corporate world yet to see how they're responding to the needs of families with trans kids, but this is a sad new frontier of the struggle for equality: how to assist people living in states like yours.
