I'm so sorry about Juanita. I'm sorry about all the Americans who have needlessly died because much of our political leadership, with Trump rallying them, found it expedient to play into conspiracy theories and denialism.

Just when we needed sober, compassionate, skilled leadership the most, Trump and the Republicans made political hay instead.

I'm sure historians will study this era for a long time, searching it for lessons about how politics can devolve into a toxic mess that kills people.
