I’m reminded of one of Detroit’s most beloved soul food restaurants. It’s mostly a takeout joint, and looks like nothing from the outside. They specialize in, and mostly only in, turkey wings.
You can get sides of greens and yams and other traditional soul food, but if you want meat, turkey wings it is. One-time scraps turned into pure delicious comfort.
Not many white people in the city know about the restaurant, but it’s been there for generations, and it’s one of the city’s secrets you’re only likely to discover if you hang out with Black Detroiters.
