I'm not qualified to comment on this article given I don't even know what UX means, but I know what racism and doubling down mean. It's interesting to me that a lot of people presume racism (or homophobia or whatever) have to spring from hatred to be real.
Well, I'm not coming from a place of hate somebody will say, as if that makes everything better.
We're not being hateful, say hoards of anti-trans activists in the UK; we're just having a discussion about women's rights. Some of our best friends are trans women, pinky swear.
If Black people being underrepresented in tech is not racism, what is it then?
I don't have any answers about how to solve the problem, not even knowing what tech field you're talking about. But it doesn't take a genius to understand that denying a real problem makes it worse not better.
