I'm not at all surprised about the outcome in Ohio, which is where most of my family live and where I was born and spent the first part of my childhood. Women in Ohio are like women everywhere. Large majorities of them understand that the right to an abortion is important, and they resent having it taken from them.

Most of the women in my family are Republicans. Most of the women in my family are going to vote for the right to an abortion whether they say they will or not. The polling booth is completely private.

Or at least that's what my Ohio cousins tell me.

Can the men in the Republican Party really not figure this out?
