I’m curious how you are able to read my article and conclude that I am arguing that all police should be banned from Pride. I think I’m pretty clearly endorsing HOP’s position that a specific group should be excluded right now, uniformed representatives of the NYPD (and the New York corrections department, which is less controversial) owing to institutional and systematic brutality.

Marching as a uniformed representative of the NYPD, rather than marching as a cop to protest the department (as GOAL used to do), sends a false and toxic message contrary to the aims of the events.
