I'm constantly fascinated, amazed, and depressed about how likely human institutions are to try to heavily control human relationships — especially romantic/sexual relationships.

Patriarchal religion is infamous for it, but you even see it in the contemporary business world. Don't you dare date on the job, because it might interfere with our profit margin. Can't have messy relationships messing with the money!

I really would love to live in a society where people were truly free to live to their full potential and pursue the relationships that would most satisfy them.

Nobody should have to hide in a bathroom while talking to a crush or pretend not to be going out with someone they're going out with, because the boss wouldn't like it.
