I’m an exclamation mark abuser, it must be said, often in a cheerful sense with personal correspondents. I don’t just say good morning, I say “good morning!” or “Beautiful day!” or “I was so happy to get your note!” It’s a quirk, but an evident enough one that if friends see me not using exclamation marks, they’re known to ask me if I’m okay. 🤣

So when Google launched auto reply, I was all set. All I had to do was add a few exclamation marks and we were all set! (See how that works?)

The only problem is, the quick reply process can make me forget to add the little marks, and then friends are back to asking me if I’m okay.
