I’m afraid you’re right, Kay Bolden. My former gay business partner from Quebec used to wax eloquent about how hard the Catholic Church used to work to maintain the power structure that kept French speakers subservient and submissive to English speakers. Just one more example to add to yours. When the quebecois deserted the Church en masse in the 60s and 70s, francophones finally won their equality.

I don’t know what’s up with the church, but I left a lot out of my article for the sake of brevity. Since I started my Catholic series, many Catholics have contacted me. All of them have been angry, and not a single one of them would admit that it’s horrible of the Church to call us depraved. I don’t what it is about the Catholic Church, but it evidently warps and twists people terribly.
