I'm afraid that suggestion would be, sadly, a non-starter in the United States right now. First, our tradition of elected school boards is long established, and principles of local/community democracy are revered, practically sacrosanct, for better or worse.

Second, reactionary politicians like Governor DeSantis in Florida are rather making their bones on demanding more parental involvement in controlling schools. His infamous Don't Say Gay law is premised on the notion that school professionals are out of control and not heeding conservative/religious parents' wishes.

I agree with you that school professionals should be relatively protected from parental micromanagement, but Republicans and other conservatives don't agree, and that's really the essence of the struggle on the ground right now, at least in Republican states and communities.
