I’m a native English speaker who has made a great deal of effort to learn to speak other languages. I rarely ever dare to write in them for fear of appearing uneducated or less than skilled.

I should not feel that way, because learning other languages is tremendously difficult and a serious accomplishment — even if I might never be able to pull off the feat of appearing to be a native speaker.

For daring to write in a language that is not your first, and for doing it so well, you have all my respect and admiration.
