I'm a bit older than you, so my nascent gay-boy thrills came from Bo and Luke Duke of the Dukes of Hazard. Each was dreamier than the other depending on how the sun hit them.

And Cousin Daisy gave me cover, not that it helped. Every straight boy in the country, it seemed, tuned into the Dukes to drool over Daisy's daisy dukes.

I say it didn't help because my own tells were pretty obvious. My coming out was a bit painful, but it didn't exactly surprise anyone.

But then, on Dukes of Hazard night, I really didn't care. All I wanted was to imagine either of the Duke boys roaring up in the General to snatch me away into mysterious romance.

What the mystery would culminate in was hazy to me, but a gay boy could dream, and I surely did!
