If your religion requires you to mistreat LGBTQ people, then your religious institution must receive no federal funding. It is not just wrong, but appallingly wrong, to require LGBTQ people to fund their own oppression. If you think that's a trade-off, and that you have a right to discriminate against LGBTQ people, then I would say that something is deeply morally wrong with you and your religious or cultural traditions. If you want me to respect homophobia, and if you want the American people to pay for it, you've got another thnk coming. Because we will fight you tooth and nail, and we will do everything we can to defeat you and to win a victory for love and inclusivity.
