If these evil, twisted old men were JUST sexist pigs and homophobic bigots prancing about in the finery of the medieval ruling class, I wouldn’t care. Sadly, or perhaps tragically, they wield a lot of power, both over hearts and minds and (in parts of the world where the Church remains temporally strong) over people’s lives.
