If I’m not mistaken, the Catholic Church now accepts the Freer Logion addition to the Gospel of Mark as canonical, though I think its acceptance is controversial elsewhere — as it must have been controversial in the third through fifth centuries.

I’d be very interested to see you write about a history of that controversy.
