If I had not lived in Berlin for several years as a young man, I might be one of those people entertaining the fallacy that the American lifestyle is somehow exceptional and superior.

I’m a little jealous, though, because it sounds like Berlin has become even nicer than when I lived there.

But I heated with oil, not coal, so I probably was a little warmer. ;-)
