If I had a penny for every time some straight person (often well meaning) asked me about gender roles in my relationships ...

"Come on, you can tell me. Who's the, you know, dominant one ..."

Earlier in my life they might have just come right out and said who's the man, though now it seems like some people at least are learning that that's not a cool question. So they just rephrase the question. 🤣

It's funny, but it's not at the same time. It really is a failure of imagination, isn't it?

I'm not always sure what they want to know. What we do in bed? Sorry, that's private. And what they're thinking about gay sex is probably not very accurate, anyway.

As to the rest of our relationship, like who does the dishes and who mows the lawn, or who pays the bills and decides on the family budget...

Seriously? Being gay has something to do with that? Sigh.
