If anyone's job requires them to humiliate and mistreat a disabled child and their mother, then in my opinion they have no choice but to resist, that is if they wish to remain decent, moral people. "Just following orders" is not a moral defense. Decent people have to do the right thing even if they're ordered to do the wrong thing.
