If anybody actually follows the advice of the Colorado Republican Party and burns somebody else's Pride flag, they're going to find themselves in for a hell of a criminal shock if they get caught.
It's one thing to burn your own flag in protest. That's protected free speech.
But if you steal and destroy somebody else's property, especially by burning it, that's usually a felony.
What's wrong with the Colorado GOP? Anybody in Colorado, Republicans included, are free to ... you know ... Not go to Pride events if it's not their cup of tea.
For a major political party to be urging members to commit felonies is astounding. I headed over to Twitter to look at their original post, and at least they're being roundly exoriated.
I even saw some Colorado Republicans telling them to knock it off.
But I'm sure the damage has been, largely, done.
Some knucklehead or group of knuckleheads will surely take up their challenge. Sigh.
If we're lucky they'll go to prison as an example of what happens when you follow the advice of political leaders with no sense of responsibility or proper civic engagement.
