I’d say that Black people in the United States are persecuted, and that Black churches suffer as a consequence, for sure. I find it interesting that white evangelicals perceive themselves as being persecuted because they’re Christians — probably more so today than in my youth — while they quite routinely deny the real persecution that Black people experience just for being Black.

I don’t even want to talk about the ridiculous segment I saw on Fox News this morning about the Starbucks where the Black men were arrested just for waiting for an associate.

I really need to stop watching Fox. I guess I do it for material and for the fascinating horror of it.
