I’d move back to Germany if I could, to be honest. I lived in Berlin for five important years of my formative young adulthood, and I loved the culture. It’s so open and kind, with little of the hateful religious fanaticism one finds in the U.S. among Evangelicals and the Catholic hierarchy. Oh, and don’t worry, the language isn’t all THAT hard. I mean, it’s not a piece of cake, but compared to a native English speaker trying to learn Mandarin or even Persian, it’s not all that intimidating. Some people say Romance languages like French and Spanish are a bit easier for English speakers than German, but I’m not so sure I agree. In any case, they’re certainly in the same order of difficulty.
