I wouldn’t think so. When the pope told reporters that homosexuality is a sin, he must have meant homosexual acts. Official Catholic teachings make clear that sexual attraction toward people of the same sex is not sinful. Only sexual acts are sinful. The context of the interview makes clear in my mind that Francis means that sex with a same-gender partner should not be criminal but that it is sinful in the eyes of the church.
