I would suggest we regulate by not allowing amplification of stories that call for lining gay people up and shooting them in the back of the head. Not overly complicated, that.
The only way this pastor and other people get away with it is they say they are just talking about religion.
We need to stop privileging religion and treat it as just any other human idea, not extending it any special tolerance.
Because, obviously, when you get to a point where you're allowed to suggest that gay people be lined up against a wall and shot in the back of the head, and that suggestion gets protection because it's religious, something is clearly majorly fucked up.
For me, regulating speech about lining gay people up and shooting them in the back of the head is not a complicated subject at all.
It's astonishing that some people find it difficult.
Yet this morning, as I did my initial promo work on Twitter like I always do, I ran into countless comments and tweets about how one should line gay people up against the wall and shoot them in the back of the head.
Am I getting my message across?
This should not be complicated.
