I wonder if it’s true that Robert Heinlein’s Stranger in a Strange Land was responsible for the American waterbed fad. You hear it repeated all the time, as if it were a fact, but I’ve never looked into it.

I’ve never owned one, but I’ve occasionally slept in one, the reason being not particularly family-friendly so we should perhaps keep it on the down low.

Although there may have been marijuana involved. 🤣
