I wish I knew! A young man from the Philippines confronted the pope during a video conference yesterday (or it might have been the day before) asking him why the homophobic slurs and why the discrimination.
Francis ignored him.
Oh, the pope spoke for a moment to condemn discrimination, mostly against women, but he didn't say a word about his own obvious discrimination against gay men, and he didn't mention the hateful slur that the young man asked him to apologize for. Hell, he didn't even mention it.
As I said, he all but ignored the young man who had the courage to confront him.
It's depressing.
