I wish I could have met him! You know, meth addiction is a serious problem in some elements of gay-male society, where it retains something of a glamorous cache, unlike in other subcultures where it's more looked down on. A straight man from Appalachia on meth is seen as as total loser, whereas a gay man in Manhattan who "parties and plays" can be seen as successful and somebody to emulate.

But they're both addicted to the same powerful, life-destroying drug.

Thank you for sharing this, and I'm so sorry I was hospitalized when it was first published. But I'm on the mend now, and getting caught up!
